We are currently going through a period of significant growth and now have an opening for a site operations manager to manage the day-to-day activity of the harvest team and production team at our Devon Meadows farm. The Role

The purpose of this position is to manage the teams in three divisions of the business operating at our Devon Meadows site. As this is a newly created role, working closing with the horticulture team, you will have the opportunity to bring your skills and experience to manage each area and foster efficiency and teamwork to enable the company to continue to grow from strength to strength.

Key Tasks:

  • Responsible for the daily production scheduling and work flow management with team leaders
  • Manage weekly roster
  • Responsible for recruitment and training of all new staff
  • Oversee daily set up and shut down procedures
  • Provide support to the team leaders in performing and improving their work skills
  • Ensure packing and related production tasks are completed within KPI’s set by the company
  • Ensure staff work within and comply to company’s processes and procedures
  • Responsibility for improving efficiency and encouraging productivity of the team
  • Responsible for the quality assessments of all inbound and outbound stock
  • Responsible for completion of daily customers orders in a timely manner
  • Maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Managing procurement of farm requirements including seeds, dry goods and growing materials
  • Managing divisional labour and cost budgets

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a leadership or supervisor role
  • Highly organised
  • Fantastic communicator with all stakeholders and the ability to work with a culturally diverse workforce
  • Understanding of HACCP and quality assurance practices
  • Production packing / inline management experience
  • A team player
  • The ability to work autonomously and adapt to a changing environment
  • Intermediate computer skills, with proven ability to pick up new software programs
  • Bachelor of Business or relevant field desired
